Work from anywhere

Future. Work-Life. Balance.

DIA makes it possible for its employees to discover the world beyond their annual vacation.

Thanks to the possibility of flexible working on the move, we at DIA are not tied to work on our projects in one of our offices or at home. Due to the cloud and encrypted VPN tunnel, all colleagues can also participate in customer meetings and internal arrangements while abroad. Whether it's a flexible stay overseas in Thailand, "workation" in Norway or a long weekend with friends or family: at DIA, nothing stands in the way of "Work from anywhere".

Tim | Salesforce Developer

Between Scandinavia, Thailand and Düsseldorf

Tim Bayer is on the road a lot. He is rarely to be found at his main residence in Ulm. But he can be found in Norway, Spain, the Netherlands, Hungary and Thailand. Tim's wife works for an international company and is often abroad for long periods of time. Tim then simply travels with her and works for DIA from there. In addition, he has designed his vacation in Thailand as a workation by adding a few weeks of work in the sun to his recreational vacation.

Jonas | Sales Assistant

Work and travel in Thailand

Normally, Jonas is working in the sales team from Wiesbaden. However, when the weather in Germany gets too uncomfortable at the beginning of the year, he likes to take the opportunity to combine traveling as his passion with his job. Thanks to this flexible offer, island hopping in Thailand is no problem. With a stable Internet connection, nothing stands in the way of mobile working even from Koh Samui or Koh Phangan - always in the secure environment of the DIA infrastructure. Working while enjoying the Thai sun. That's work-life balance.

Jonas' next destination? Bali!

Luca | Employer Branding Manager

From Bangkok to Phuket

After two years of travel being severely restricted by the Corona pandemic, Luca from our HR team took one of the first chances to get on a plane. His itinerary first took him to Bangkok. Luca then continued his journey via Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Phuket. In between the free vacation days, he was always available and was able to participate in important appointments and arrangements despite the time difference and occasional power outages: "Thanks to the cloud-based work and the digital infrastructure of DIA, all this was no problem at all, you just have to adjust your day a bit due to the time difference," he explains. His next travel destination with Workation: probably Bali. DIA will probably be able to open a branch there soon.

Roman | Business Analyst

Combining family visits and city trips with work

Roman is part of our Berlin "task force". Since his family lives almost 700 kilometers away in Bad Dürkheim, Roman likes to take the opportunity to combine appointments at the DIA headquarters in Wetzlar with a visit to his family. Depending on the current task, he then sometimes works from the vineyard with a view of the Rhine Valley. "With a stable Internet connection, this is technically no problem at all at DIA," he explains. Roman also enjoys traveling to major German cities. He therefore also uses the local flexibility to take city trips away from busy days. He has already visited Munich and Leipzig. Next on the agenda are Hamburg and Nuremberg, and soon, for the first time outside Germany, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. But then not just over a weekend.

Stefan | Senior Solution Architect

Able to work even in difficult situations

Similar to Roman, Stefan also frequently uses the freedom of "Work from Anywhere" to visit friends and family in North Rhine-Westphalia. Since he travels exclusively by train, the mobile DIA hotspot is particularly valuable to him. The flexibility of working at DIA has also helped him a lot in emergency situations: On a trip during the flood events in the Ahr Valley, he stayed with a friend in Cologne and was stuck there for four days. For his projects, this was no problem, because a laptop and Internet access are enough to keep him working even in unforeseen situations. However, Stefan particularly emphasizes the work-life balance that is made possible by working independently of location. On nice days, the hobby beekeeper likes to take his laptop to the bee meadow and work for a few hours on the garden bench with a view of his hardworking helpers.

Palina | Salesforce Lead Developer

Big city life in NYC

To fulfill a big dream, our Salesforce Lead Developer Palina decided to spend a whole month in the Big Apple in the USA. Not just to be a tourist, but to get to know the city in a completely different way. That was the goal - and she achieved it. In order to really take the time for this and still be able to support her team in Germany, Palina incorporated a few workdays into her vacation in New York City. After clear agreements with the team members and important meetings at times that are reasonable for both locations, this was no problem at all: "We were close to our release date in an important project, so I wanted to be there for my team and not just disappear for a month."
Living temporarily in New York City like a real local - walking through Central Park, working in one of the numerous coffee shops and enjoying a show on Broadway in the evening. All possible with "Work from Anywhere" at DIA.
There are no concrete plans for the near future, but Palina's next dream destination is already set: India!

Szandor | Principal Technology Evangelist Salesforce

MVP globetrotter

Szandor has a special job within the DIA organization. As a Salesforce MVP (Most Valuable Person), he travels a lot. MVPs not only stand out because they know their way around the Salesforce world like few others, they also take the time to share their knowledge with the community at events, in online sessions and blogs.
From YeurDreamin` in Amsterdam to Salesforce Live in Munich, on to Dreamforce in San Francisco, in between Salesforce Live in Düsseldorf and on to North Africa Dreamin in Cassablanca. Szandor's first few months at DIA looked something like this. Fortunately, he is able to work from anywhere in the world, has secure access to all of DIA's systems and data, and can participate in important coordination meetings.

Maitreyee | Salesforce Functional Consultant

Home vacation in India

Mai has been living in Germany for some time, but is originally from India. However, regular visits to her home country are very important to her due to the long distance. In order to spend more time with her family in Pune, near Mumbai, Mai therefore combines the possibility of mobile working with stays in India. Working from India is not a problem; via Zoom meetings and digital access to all important documents in the cloud, Mai can manage her workday in Pune well despite the time difference. "The best thing, of course, is that I can get home-cooked food delivered directly to my desk without much effort, since I live with my parents in India," Mai finds. Visits home are simply something nice after all.
Her dream for the next workation is to spend several weeks in Italy and work for DIA from there.

Nika | Salesforce Solution Architect

Family visits in Belgrade

Nika was born and raised in the Serbian capital Belgrade. She came to Germany through her job at an international company and has since found her second home in Berlin. Of course, she tries to visit her family and friends back home regularly. To make the visits flexible and spend longer periods at a time in Serbia, Nika likes to work from there for a few days: "Since I work in my home office most of the time anyway, it doesn't make much difference whether I'm in Berlin or Belgrade." As long as she is on the WLAN with her laptop, she has access to all the relevant files and programmes she needs in her everyday work through the cloud and security functions of the DIA IT infrastructure.
The next Workation family visit is also already planned. This time, Nika is going to Budapest, where family members also live.

Yaser | Salesforce Solution Architect

Workation in Jordan

Through the workation opportunity at DIA, Yaser was able to extend his family visit to his hometown Amman in Jordan by a week without any problems. In addition to a week's holiday locally, during which he was able to visit the historic city of Petra, among other things, he spent a week working on our client projects from Jordan. He particularly enjoyed the work in a new environment and the opportunity to experience something new after work. "Because of the infrastructure we have at DIA, this was no problem at all".

Yaser is planning his next workstation in Italy or Spain, then also for a whole month.

Benjamin | Project Manager

Working life in Croatia

Inspired by other colleagues from #TeamDIA and in search of sunshine and good weather, our Project Manager Benni was drawn to the island of Vir in Croatia for a whole month in combination with a few days of vacation.

Working on site was no problem for him thanks to online meetings and digital collaboration: "Thanks to the flexibility at DIA, everything worked well and my daily work routine was actually the same as at home". Of course, going for a swim in the sea before or after work is a highlight, which we gladly make possible for our colleagues through the "Work from Anywhere" concept.
